Traditional tibetan kata (scarf) used to honour a lama/teacher and also used for lay purposes; to wish farewell, good luck or congratulate people.

Available in white, embossed with the eight auspicious symbols

The offering of the kata indicates that the request is not marred by negative desires or ulterior motives, the white colour mirroring the pure intentions of the giver.

INFORMATION:

Butter lamps to silk offering scarves, incense burners and more... tibetan buddhism is a way of living and tibetans design many practical items to assist in the universal application of spirituality.

Often the most simple of utensils will have ornate embellishments to help inspire and focus the mind towards spiritual matters for everyday tasks - for example the incense holder featured here.

Tibetan incense is normally burned lying down, in carved wooden boxes, or intricately designed metal dishes, neatly catching all the ash too.
