INFORMATION:

An image can express more than a thousand words?

when trying to portray deep significance it often fills the emotional meaning not conveyed by words alone. The images of tibetan deities and their associated symbolism are the visions which have been recorded in scriptural texts and their intimate wisdom handed down through the ages.

The art of thangka painting reproduces exactly these images as these visions laid out centuries before so that they contain the same spiritual relevance. All the attributes, colours, hand or leg positions and implements are of spiritual signficance.

Images like these are used as aids to spiritual development and to concentrate the mind.

Sometimes, however, we need a more direct image, like our spiritual teacher or someone we admire, to bring that sense of reality into our innermost deliberations.
