INFORMATION:
Raise a tibetan flag.
Buy one, Fly one
The Tibetan National Flag is full of symbolism and was introduced by the 13th Dalai Lama in 1912. In the centre the snow clad mountain represents Tibet - the rooftop of the world. Across the dark blue sky six red bands spread - representing the six original tribes or ancestors of the Tibetan people. At the tip of the snow mountain, the sun with its rays brilliantly shining in all directions represents the equal enjoyment of freedom, spiritual and material happiness and prosperity by all beings in the land of Tibet. On the slopes of the mountain stand a pair of snow lions which represent a unified spiritual and secular life. The beautiful three coloured jewel held aloft represents the Three Supreme Jewels (the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha). The two coloured swirling jewel held between the two lions represents cherishing the self discipline of correct ethical behaviour.
