Thangkas are normally framed with an initial red border and then blue, green or yellow outside. Each has a protective front silky cover, backing, wood top and bottoms that enable the painting to be rolled up if required - like a scroll. Our unique service is available in the UK and offers the plainer brocades, but follows the traditional style of brocading, everything is done by hand. Prices depend on size of thangka, quality of brocade selected and number of rainbows (borders). As a guide, a small thangka 18" x 12", one border in ordinary brocade will cost from £75.
